Katherine Holmes

A PhD student at Imperial College London specialising in quantum dynamics.

My PhD is due to finish by late 2024. I am seeking a Research Associate position in a Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry department following my thesis submission.

I am a budding science communicator aiming to overcome the stigma that mathematics, especially quantum mechanics, is too complicated for those without science backgrounds. I believe anyone can understand and appreciate the wonders mathematics presents to us by using a mutual language.

I have performed and taught improv drama and performed stand-up and sketch comedy. I have also dabbled in podcasting.

LGBTQ+/Aspec advocacy is at the heart of most of my public speaking. My mission is to raise awareness of asexuality and aromanticism.

Engaging with the public brings me much joy, whether through science, raising Aspec awareness, performance arts or as a personal tutor teaching quantum mechanics modules. I hope to do more and welcome any contacts regarding future opportunities.
